Description

Climate change will change the way we do business, as it will affect everything from supply chain logistics to working in heat. OSHA is taking steps to protect vulnerable workers and has launched a new National Emphasis Program to protect millions of workers from heat illnesses and injuries, with more action expected in the months ahead. This presentation will educate safety leaders on the latest information on occupational heat stress and how inaction could negatively affect their business (health, safety, and productivity). Fortunately, many heat hazards are preventable, and this session will guide attendees through a flow chart decision tree for how to identify the hazards and implement a heat stress management plan. Speakers Margaret Morrissey and Matt Block will also offer suggestions for heat stress prevention strategies that will work for your workplace, what to do if an employee suffers an exertional heat stroke and how to implement the most effective heat stress management.
