Description

Global fleet safety experts have recently come to emphasize the importance of sharing their best practices with third party operators, supply chain vendors, and fleet safety stakeholders in general. Sharing best practices among carriers not only brings reputational benefits, it also fosters road safety in the communities within which fleet operators must work. Over the last three years, we have conducted market research into the fleet safety best practices small, midsize, and large carriers tend to employ. Results from our analyses have given us substantial insight into the dramatic gap in the quality and applicability of best practices employed by small-to-midsize carriers and those employed by large fleets. This presentation will focus on the findings of a large-scale public-private partnership seeking ways to pass along to small-to-midsize carriers safety leadership best practices from larger, well-resourced fleets. Specific topics will include a) the best-practices gap between small and large fleets with respect to fleet safety leadership, b) the most-impactful safety leadership practices among the global, well-funded fleets and c) how attendees should prioritize safety leadership development areas.
