Carla Mueller has served as Group Manager for the Safety, Environmental, and Security Organization for The Clorox Company since 2018. In this role, she oversees compliance, employee health and safety, and global environmental and security operational impact. She has managed the organization to its best safety performance amidst and following a worldwide pandemic. This includes zero workplace COVID-19 recordables, enabling Clorox to sustain continued operations throughout the pandemic. In the same period, Clorox has also made significant progress toward its 2025 goals of 100% zero-waste-to-landfill at all manufacturing facilities. During her nine years with Clorox, Mueller has served in various roles of increasing responsibility, including the Division Quality Manager for Clorox’s Specialty division. Mueller provided regulatory compliance support for multiple well-known brands, including Glad, Brita, Kingsford, Hidden Valley and Fresh Step, and led the implementation of higher regulatory standards across the company’s food brands. Other roles included operational and R&D support of key product launches, and expansions in the food and Burt’s Bees business. Before joining Clorox, Mueller spent 20 years as an operations and organizational leader for multiple food companies, including Tyson, Sara Lee and Kellogg. She also leads Clorox’s Southeast STEM and Community Development Grant programs. She is a certified Six Sigma black belt with a background in Analytical Chemistry from DePaul University.
