He holds a BS from Central Washington University and has worked across diverse construction sectors. Leadership & Impact As the corporate safety director, Mike oversees nearly 45 safety professionals across 7 states, supporting 3,000 employees, over $1 billion in revenue, and 5.5 million worker hours in self-performed work. Safety Achievements Mike led Apollo on a 24-year journey to improve the Experience Modification Rate (EMR) in Washington State from 0.99 to 0.29, and to 0.43 in other states. Under his leadership, Apollo has maintained an EMR below 0.46 since 2010, resulting in millions of dollars in annual insurance premium savings. Apollo has the lowest EMR in Washington State across virtually all industries. Approach to Safety Mike’s safety philosophy centers on personal training, mentoring, and coaching, fostering an injury-free work environment.
