Dick Flynt spent the first 20 years of his career working in multiple manufacturing facilities as a production worker, an electrician, and finally as a contract automation engineer. In 2001 he transitioned to the field of safety and never looked back. Returning to school he earned his degree in Occupational Safety from the State University of New York at Empire State and attained the CSP and CIT certifications. He then worked as a safety manager or director at 6 different manufacturing companies over 21 years. In 2023 he became a senior consultant for the National Safety Council where he helps companies in multiple industries improve their safety performance. He is a frequent presenter at National and regional safety conferences all over the U.S. and his articles have appeared in leading safety journals.
